GOAL

2009 ACTIVITY

DESIRED OUTCOME

Complete CEQA analysis of range land practices and ranch plan implementation.

RFP for consultant. Hire most qualified and cost competitive consultant to complete a report that complies with terms and conditions of the DWR contract.2009 activity is gathering data and reporting to BOD of findings and issues of significance related to T and E species.

All rangeland improvement practices on private land should be able to proceed by using a programmatic CEQA document that identifies T and E species and any mitigation necessary to allow ranch plan implementation with a negative declaration. Project final report due to DWR by the end of 2010.

Develop updated upper watershed flood control and water management plans for Arroyo Pasajero, Cantua-Salt-Martinez and Panoche-Silver Creek watershed complexes.

Retain grant writer to assist in the preparation of applications for various funding sources, including but not limited to USDA, USBR, CA DWR, CA SWRCB. At least four applications should be prepared.

Funding to allow for development of design of flood diversions, groundwater recharge facilities and riparian corridor plans.

Watershed Coordinator.

Work with DOC staff to develop a competitive grant for coordinator. Application to be prepared in January or February 2009.

Watershed Coordinator to work on all upper and lower watershed management issues as soon as practical.
